Daniel Gallagher - Glebe Tyrone
« on: Sunday 30 May 21 18:38 BST (UK) »
Can I ask for some help again please? I'm looking for more information on Daniel Gallagher who I think died in Glebe, Tyrone in 1891aged 60. Present at death was his son in law John Devanney. John was also the executer of the will. The death certificate says that Daniel was till married at time of death so I'm looking for his wife's name.

Here is the information I have so far on Edward Gallagher who I believe was Daniel's son.

Edward married Ann McGrath, daughter of Nathaniel McGrath, in 1886 in Doneyloop. Ann was a mill girl and aged 24 at the time. Witnesses to the wedding were Edward Flanagan and Kate McGrath.

Edward and Ann had the following children in Strabane  and were living in Church  street, Strabane in 1911.

Mary Gallagher born 1891 and who married Patrick McMahon

Nathaniel T Gallagher 1895-1966 ( died South Carolina)

Ann Gallagher 1901

Daniel Gallagher 1888- 1959

Edward Gallagher.

Any help with finding more info on Edward's parents would be much appreciated.

For others helping, here's the link to this 1911 census.

Yes, nothing coming up for him in Griffith valuation as far as I can see.

If Daniel was 60 when he died in 1891 then he might not have been head of household at the time of Griffith's. Have you checked the Valuation Revision Books from 1901 back to Griffith's for clues?

Some possibly related people.

Birth of John DAVENNEY, parents John DAVENNEY and Rose GALLAGHER.

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1890/02430/1905023.pdf

I cannot see a marriage for John and Rose.

1901 census, the child John is with Patrick GALLAGHER as a nephew.

The birth of Patrick and Ellen's son.

I cannot see a marriage for Patrick and Ellen.

Just correcting that, I must be  8)

Patrick's father is Daniel, and Rose is a witness.

The death of John DEVENNEY, also in 1891, John GALLAGHER is the informant.

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1891/06055/4725905.pdf

His occupation matches the births of son John and daughter Bridget.

If you're interested, I can post more info on what happened to Rose.
