I checked the Toronto Star for the four days after her death date, and did not see an obituary for her.  Is she the Gladys M. Short in St. Paul's electoral district in the 1965 voters' lists, a cook by profession?

I do not have an ancestry sub at the moment but I think she was living in Scarborough in 1963. She was a widow.
Thanks for looking.

Findagrave has a Gladys Mary (Horton) Short, b 1899 and died 1985.   Buried in Shawinigan, Quebec.

Could this be your Gladys?

There is an obit for this Robert in the Toronto Star, 2 Oct 1945 page 21

It says Robert Short died suddenly at the home of his brother in law, 66 Empire Ave, on Oct 2 1945.  Husband of Gladys Horton.  Father of B, W, N, J and P.  Interment Shawinigan Falls, Quebec.

The one in Scarborough in the 1963 voters list is noted as a widow, Mrs. Gladys Short, living on Montvale Drive. Also in the home is a William Short, a machine operator, and Muriel (William's wife).

I've checked the Toronto Star, the Globe & Mail and the Montreal Gazette and not found an obituary.
