I'm trying to figure out if my Anthony Lawton (mar. Ann Yates 4 Feb 1818 in Sedgley, Staffordshire) is the same person who matches this death register:
"Anthony Lawton
England and Wales Death Registration Index 1837-2007
Event Type:
Death
Registration District:
Dudley
Name:
Anthony Lawton
Death Date:
1846
Death Place:
Dudley, Staffordshire, England"
Also, I'm trying to figure out if he is the same person as this Anthony Lawton:
Anthony Lawton (ch 21 Aug 1796 Manchester, Lanchashire, England)
I'm not sure if I'm correct, but I think that Anthony Lawton is the son of Anthony Lawton ch. 18 Mar 1770 Keele, Staffordshire, England. So there is a connection to Staffordshire. It's just a bit anomolous that he would be christened in Manchester. Also, there is an Anthony Lawton who got married in Manchester:
Anthony Lawton
Sex:
Male
Spouse's Name:
Ellen Appleton
Spouse's Sex:
Female
Marriage Date:
23 Apr 1792
Marriage Place:
Manchester, Lancashire, England
If I can figure out how Manchester, Sedgley and Keele are all connected, that would be interesting. If this is correct, I've tried to reconstruct the male line as follows:
Edward Lawton = Mary Pickerin (d. 1687)
John Lawton (ch 3 May 1681 Keele) = Sarah Dale
William Lawton (ch 23 August 1719 Wolstanton, d. 1803) = Elisabeth
Joseph Lawton (ch 22 Jan 1748 Keele) = Anne Ward
Anthony Lawton (ch 18 Mar 1770 Keele, Staffordshire, England) = Ellen Appleton
Anthony Lawton (ch 21 Aug 1796 Manchester, Lanchashire, England) = Jane Yates
Sampson Lawton (abt 1826 Kingswinford, Staffordshire) = Phoebe Cooper
