I have been going through all the information that has kindly been added to this thread.
I am still trying to work out if the McGonigle connection is valid, and whether the Boleslaw Pargulski who appears on a WWII draft card is connected, or is a coincidence. I am certain that Stella Pargulska/Benewski/Bielawski cannot have re-married, at least not before 1944, as she appears on the 1940 census as a widow with her daughter at 86 North Sherman Street, Wilkes-Barre, the same address as that when her daughter married James Patterson some 4 years later.
I have checked through Sandra's information, some of which I had already discovered, but the newspaper clips have been very useful indeed, and other pointers seem to confirm that Stella's parents were indeed, John Pargulski and Veronica Rikaciewska.
If the 1940 census entry for Della Pargulska is a match, as suggested, I am curious as to why I can find absolutely no further information about Della or any of the other three children listed?
In addition, I am having difficulty in tracking down Felix Benewski/Bielawski's uncle, W Harasimowicz, but the surname may be transcribed incorrectly. He is said to be living at 232 South Main Street, Shenandoah, PA. Is it possible to do address look-ups on the US Census? Felix arrived in 1912, so I would need to find him in either or both the 1910 and 1920 census. As Felix' father is thought to be Kasimir Bielewski, I'm assuming in the first instance that his uncle is a sibling of his mother, but well aware that it could also be the husband of an aunt on his father's side, so finding him on a census would be potentially revealing.
