Both my parents passed away and I found this old photo while going through their house. I would love to know where and when it is from. Any help would be so appreciated. I tried to ask a cousin of my mothers, but all she said was "it looks like its of someone somewhere in the old country". She also told me my mother was the one to ask about who is in photos.. not helpful since she passed away! I think our family was from Russia, Poland and Austria.. I hope that is a good way to start.
Thank you. I'm so glad I found this site!

A bit clearer for you perhaps. Is it a gas light?

What an interesting photo.

The woman second from left and the man third from left in the back row seem to have disproportionately large heads. Perhaps some superimposing has gone on in the past.

The picture hanging on the wall - a deceased loved one?

Interesting table contents - I can see what looks like alcohol …. and spoons ….

Just a hunch, but I think lthese people do have an Eastern European look to them, so they probably are from the old country.

The picture looks in an odd place so maybe
placed there for the photo.
The table contains odd items of glass wear, cutlery
& a few other bits & pieces.
So is this a post funeral gathering for the man in the picture
& these belonged to him.
They look to be from a particular ethnic group possibly somewhere
on the Eastern side close to the Turkish border so I would
say more likely Russia than Poland or Austria.

I can see the whole picture.  There's a slider bar under it to move to the right.

To state the obvious, very few if any are smiling for the camera, so the previous comment about a funeral gathering (or other solemn occasion) seems relevant.

The man on the side of the photo and the woman seated both have their wedding rings on left hand, I far as I know Austria, Poland and Russian wear them on their right hand.
