Heffernan
« on: Saturday 05 June 21 02:48 BST (UK) »
Hi, am also researching Winnifred Heffernan circa 1820 to 1821. Trying to find out about any of her Irish family eg Parents siblings what the family did or information on this family etc etc . The only information I have on Winnifred in Ireland is that she was an indentured immigrant on the ship Neptune  She was 20yrs old at the time and Roman Catholic. The ship arrived in Australia on 29th March 1841 and she married Michael Honan Jnr 29 August 1841 in Melbourne. Hoping that there is information on her in Ireland. Thankyou Hereford

This is the only one I can see but it is 1825  :-\
https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632774#page/46/mode/1up

The record is in Latin
Winifred Heffernan - parents Michael and Anast. Hureen (?)
25th May 1825 - Tipperary

There is also Mary born 1836 to the same parents so, I would imagine there are other births in between.

I see from a couple of trees that Winifred had a daughter Anastasia so it might be worth bearing in mind although she would be only 16 years old, not 20 years.

Thankyou for this It says in the manifest of the ship Neptune that she was 20 yrs Would it be at all possible she was younger.? My Winnifred did have a daughter Anastasia. Anastasia was my GG Grandmother. Winnifred married Michael Honan Jnr in Melbourne in 1841. Winnifred had 3 daughters Anastasia Mary and Ellen I am assuming that Anast could be shortened from Anastasia.? She possibly named her daughters after family members? Thanks again Hereford

I have tried another search and there is a later Winifred born to what seems to be the same couple so it looks like the first one died.  :-\
9th November 1833
Winifred to Michael and Ann Huryne.

Sorry about that.
