Great Uncle Denis Davies-R.N WW2.
« on: Saturday 05 June 21 17:11 BST (UK) »
I'm drawing a complete blank searching Ancestry for any info re my wife's g.uncle's naval service. I have his service number-Gunner JX.254472.I'm told that he was in England until c1942 (perhaps spending time at Chatham) and was then possibly posted to India.
It has been suggested to me that his hatband bore the name H.M.S.Raleigh.
Any further information would be terrific and gratefully accepted.

HMS Raleigh was set up in 1940 in Torpoint, Cornwall as a shore-based training establishment.
