Burial place of Thomas Bentley?
« on: Sunday 06 June 21 10:00 BST (UK) »
Thomas Bentley was the son of Jane Bentley and lived with his single mother and grandparents in Thurmaston, Leicestershire. Family members were usually buried in the churchyard there, even two brothers of Jane who drowned in Leicester in 1835.

Thomas was terribly burned on about 16 January 1866, aged 6, when his clothes caught fire at home (report of inquest in Leicester Guardian January 20th) and was taken to the Infirmary in Leicester the following day, where he died. He does not seem to have been buried in Thurmaston, so I wonder where he was buried. Would his burial have been a private family matter or would the hospital have take over proceedings and maybe he was buried in a mass grave?

Dave :)
