John Hughes signed his Will on 8 May 1848.
He mentions
Wife Jane
Dau Lucy
Dau Jane wife of William Williams
Son David
Son Gawan
Son Evan
Son Thomas.

Perhaps if you can find these in 1851 you will know how old they are and then find baptisms.

Eglwysbach baptisms
Evan s/o John and Jane 23 April 1800.

Lucy d/o John and Anne 21  Feb 1808

The other names are a bit hit and miss with not having found them in census,

Have you got proof that Thomas Hughes father was John. Not DNA and other persons trees but an actual record.

So from the marriage certificate,  Thomas Hughes father was Thomas.
Any clues on the witnesses names.
