Where to start on the Anglo-Ashanti Wars?
« on: Tuesday 08 June 21 15:54 BST (UK) »
I have discovered that an ancestor fought in the Anglo-Ashanti Wars and was awarded the Gold Coast / Ashantee Medal (Coomassie Clasp).
Where can I turn for more information on the campaigns, especially the involvement of his regiment 1/23 and 2/23 Royal Welch Fusiliers?
Thank you!
Hywel

Henry Brackenbury's history of the war can be found with some digging on Google Books.
