Hairdressers for ladies in 1900 did they have apprenticeships ?
« on: Tuesday 08 June 21 16:20 BST (UK) »
My Grandfather, Percy Goldsmith and my Great Grandfather, John Goldsmith were ladies hairdressers  in Londonin the late 19th century and early 20th century, working from their home addresses.I have been unable to find out if they under took apprenticeships but I suspect that they must have had some formal training as hairdressing was a skilled profession. I haven't found any information at the National Archives about hairdressing apprenticeships and I am hoping that someone on the forum might have some information that would further my research.
