MH, we have a detached house, very old - 200 years - and in a semi rural location. The end of the village where I live is all old houses and they all have a problem with mice. We have had them before but up in the loft. The newer houses, at the other end of the village, built in the last 50 years ago don't seem to have a problem.

Difficult for you..... I know I wouldn't be pleased about it, but you are sure they are house mice and not field/wood mice which have a white belly and don't smell?

(Not that I have any idea how you could get them back outside if they are!!)  :-\

If they become a problem you can buy an ultrasonic pest repeller (loads on Amazon) that plugs into an electrical socket. My neighbours in the adjoining house had a mouse (or maybe mice) in their loft, I plugged the device into an adjoining upstairs wall and within a very short time they scarpered. The mice that is, not the neighbours!
My device is one that goes around the electrical system, others work within the room.
Good luck. :)

That's interesting Roobarb, I have never heard of that device before. I will certainly take a look. Thank you!
