The case was dismissed and the article doesn't give any more information about him.

I was just trying to place him rather than find out anything about the offence.
With his father being in Stockport, I thought he might still be around in the 20s.

James H Bolton married Ruth Garner in 1925, Stockport. Perhaps electoral registers might help.
