Who else has Danish ancestry? 🇩🇰

Found this video showing around the harbour where those who left Denmark in the 1800s departed from, as well as some general info about what the journey was like and  general Danish American history. Thought it was interesting and wanted to share.

My family name wasn't shown in the video, at least none that I'm related to. Our branch hailed from Odense on the island of Funen.

Hiya KitKat and a warm welcome to Rootschat - my GG Grandfather Carl Freidrich Sacht was born 1846 Heligoland - which at the time was British owned - but was previously Danish - it is now owned by Germany who swapped Zanzibar for Heligoland with Britain in 1896..
so realistically I have Danish Ancestry - my research shows a huge percentage of Danish men were Mariners / Sailors  :)
