Mary Oyston Steeple Morden
« on: Thursday 10 June 21 16:32 BST (UK) »
There was two Mary Oyston's one born 26/6/1814 in Steeple Morden and one on 6/7/1816 in Guilden Morden.
One Mary Oyston was buried on 24/9/1826 age 10 in Guilden and one 14/3/1895 age 78 in  Steeple both would put the birth year about 1816.
A Mary Oyston married William Jackson on 1/12/1834 and lived in Steeple and the 1841 to 1891 Census puts her birth year as1816.
The father of the 1814 Mary was James and the father of the 1816 was John. The second child of Mary and William Jackson was called John and none of their sons was named James which again points to the 1816 Mary.
Can anyone identify which mary married william jackson ?

If the Mary b 1816 Guilden died aged 10 in Guilden - she can’t have married in 1834.

The Mary b 1814 gives her birthplace as Steeple Morden on census entries so it follows she is the one who married Jackson

The Mary Oyston in Church Street is a Mary who married James Oyston, the Mary I was looking for lived in North Brook End Steeple.
Logic suggests the Mary born 26/6/1814 is the Mary Oyston who married William Jackson, but all the evidence points to a 1816 birth and since the Mary Oyston born in 1816 died aged 10 in 1826 it can't be this one, they just must have been poor at remembering their age.
Thank you for looking up the information
