Dave … would you mind translating this one … I think it’s Gotthilf Erns Rau husband of Johanna Christiane

The age is out going by the marriage but I think it’s him

Great photo, good looking girl

I posted a query in a Posen Forum asking for info on church books from Karge around 1800.
No luck. the only records known are from 1818 onwards.

You could try mailing the parish of Karge / Chwalim

Thanks Dave … that probably explains it if there are no records before that time the mystery may remain .. I can only guess that Johanna and Wilhelmine were sisters or cousins of some type.

Thanks Dave … another piece of the puzzle from those.  So when Gotthilf Rau married Johanna Klemke in 1826 all parents were still alive.

And Johanna Klemke was from Chwalim but Gotthilf was from Klemzig what is now Klepsk is that right? And he was a water Miller when he married but perhaps took on the wind mill job once he married and was living in Chwalim.  So I might see if there are any other Rau families in Klemzig.

I can only assume that Wilhelmina and Johanna were sisters or at the very least cousins.  The fact that their sons all migrated to the same place in Australia is all too much of a coincidence for them not to be related.

Bit by bit with your help more pieces are coming together so thank you
