Auckland Orphanages
« on: Saturday 12 June 21 22:03 BST (UK) »
Hi, We recently had an uncle pass ((mums brother) and my daughter did not know who I was talking about, so I decided to start a family tree.
My maternal grandmother Leonia Rose McCullough and her sister Delores Undine McCullough were put into an orphanage (guessing Auckland) when they were kids and their mother Reneria Desree Sarich passed by their father William McCullough.  William kept his son, Desmond, but I am unable to find any information on the girls.  Family lore has it that Delores was taken in by family but Leonia (Leonie we called her) was left there.  Is there any way to get information on this?  It would have been around 1930 when Leonia was 8 and Delores 5.  Thanks

Delores Undine McCullough married Lionel Evans McCready in 1974. She died in 2002 and is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Whakatane.

EDIT: Should have mentioned that this was her second marriage.

Hi thanks for that information. I’m actually trying to find out if there is a way to find out which propane they may have been put in and who took Delores
