Hi, does anyone have the above gentleman in there tree? If yes do you also him married and a daughter Elizabeth Steward 1530. If yes again have you found paper records for the marriage and for the birth/baptism of the daughter. Thanks for your help

Edit. Elizabeth Steward married Thomas Crispe b1524

There's a will of Robert Steward or Stuard, Dean of Ely (PCC 1558). He mentions his brothers, sister and cousins and their children (none named Elizabeth), but he doesn't appear to have been married.

He was a priest so it's unlikely he was married in 1530. His will was made during the reign of Mary and Philip.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I totally agree, Robert was a monk at Ely at the start of his career, and of course things changed for catholic’s churches when Henry viii wanted to divorce Catherine of Aragon. When Robert went back to Ely he went as a Dean so I I’m presuming he became a Protestant. Would this have change his ideas on marriage? Maybe he already had a lady friend? There are several tress in Ancestry that have Elizabeth Steward as his daughter and Emma Chambers b1502 as her mother, I’m hoping someone will be able to enlighten me.

There's a will of Thomas Crispe, of Marshfield, Gloucestershire (PCC 1598). Is this the same Thomas Crisp? In his will his wife's name is Agnes.

I don't think you can rely in trees published on Ancestry.
