Military Medal, WW1
« on: Monday 14 June 21 16:21 BST (UK) »
According to this website, Private 42820 [John] William Walker of the Leicestershire Regiment, was awarded the Military Medal and this was announced in the London Gazette, 11.2.1919, p.2105.

https://royalleicestershireregiment.org.uk/entity/128028-walker-william-john-mm?q=

No matter what I try (searching on Walker, searching on 42820, specifying the date etc), I can't find it.  Although I can find the L.G. issue dated 11.2.1919, I can't find any page number below p. 2147.

If there's a knack to this, I don't seem to have it. :-[

Can anyone help, please?

Thanks
STG

Try https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/31173/supplement/2105/data.htm

Oh thanks, but can you tell me what you searched on to find him, please?

Thanks

I’ve also had little success using the search box. With your man I just looked for the page number by empty searching for all but on earlier dates. The initial website must have given the wrong date, an easy mistake. Hope this makes sense?

Note that the award was in the 5th supplement dated 7 Feb 1919 to the issue dated 11 Feb 1919 which is the one you found going up to 2147.  What is missing from the original reference is detail of the supplement.

One would normally expect a supplement to something to be published on or after the main issue but that is not the case with the LG!
