Thanks for the extract gadget and the advice

Could it have been earlier ...photos taken before war ?

I.ll certainly donate them to a lost glasgow site if they want pictures of people and for these three if i can rule out the possibility that they are the Cambuslang brothers from Burn Butt's

Sorry jape flakes i missed your post and very useful link to photo studio dates
Of course canning street would be one to have no known dates of photos
1907 seems a bit early
They were a poor family so i think there would have to be special occasion for photos

The father and eldest brother died in 1910

He could be in his late teens - say 16-19.

What is the badge that he has in his lapel?

I forgot to mention the state studio photos are very small .not much bigger than passport photos about an inch in width ( 2cm).

Gadget i may post full military pic on another board and add link

Glad you made me look close tho  i cant see shoulders upper right  arm has one band and left sleeve has a strange cross ....on closer inspection its two crossed rifles which fits with walter in royal artillery and the latest pic looks like pic 2 so brothers is beginning to look like a possibility .im looking for a photo of my grandfather as a young man to compare .
