Trying to Find My Mothers Father

 I am trying to find my mothers father. Her mother was Audrey Evelyn Bramley, she was 21 when she met a man in late Dec 1940 or early January 1941, there are 5 boats he could have come on and my mum was born on 22 September 1941. Would any body know how I can find out, without knowing a surname? She has her DNA on Ancestry and Heritage. Regards Rosalie Henson

Could you clarify what you mean by "5 boats he could have come on"  Do you mean he was English & a sailor or do you mean he was not born in England and arrived here by boat?

Unless somebody with the same DNA contacts you - without knowing his name you will struggle

came by boat - to Where ?   did your mum live in a town / city that was a Port - ?

added - are we talking England here ?? because I cannot find a birth for Audrey Evelyn Bramley in England 1917-1922 ?

Hi We got told he was from Devon, but he had been in America. He came into Auckland City in NZ by boat. But I dont know anything more.

My mum was born in Auckland NZ, where her mother lived. Audrey was born in Kaeo Northland NZ in 1920. The Boats came into Auckland from Sydney, Melbourne, Suva and were travelling through these countries. Does not say where they came from.
