Hi Jool
Thanks for that, and the link to TNA. So we assume that Ada's entry was full up, though we can't see that, hence the need for another one. But is that why she had to be "re-opened"? Lizzie, I am not sure what "CR363a" is a code for, presumably to do with her name?

I have no idea what CR363a means.  I googled it and the only thing that popped up was another Rootschat thread with the same question but no answer.

Thank you again, Marian Miles might be the redacted entry - it's a short surname.
I've just ordered Cissie's will, estimated delivery 1st July

Got the will a few minutes ago - much quicker than they said.
Unfortunately not much help with the husband mystery. It went to administration because she didn't name an executor. Admin was granted to Cyril Walter Roper who lived in the same street in Welwyn GC. The will was made 14 June 1976, Cissie died 11 July 1976, admin granted 27 July 1976. Estate value £121.19.
beneficiaries: Cyril Walter Roper and two people with same surname at same address. (Cyril has died but others may still be living)
Sounds like they are neighbours who have looked after her, because she says she does this with the full knowledge of her niece (name given in will, but may still be living) because they have been kindness itself to her.
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott
