Because of the presence of Robert McMinn on the 1850 census, I was guessing John's wife was Margaret McMinn. There is a tree online which confirms this and says John's parents were George Watterson, and Elizabeth (unsourced). All children born PA, starting with Samuel in 1800 which makes George rather young if he was indeed born 1783.
Thanks so much Sandra.

Death record of daughter Rachel Watterson born 12 March 1832 died 18 August 1918 age 86 parents
John Watterson  and Margaret McMinn. Buried 21st August 1918 in Oxford.

It says she was a widow so either she married another Watterson or she had 2 children out of wedlock and nothing was said. Her son William E 1863-1928 reported her death.

The John Watterson on find a grave at Manor Presbyterian Church is more likely the son of Joseph Watterson 1813-1888 and Eliza Ann nee Smith 1817-1896.
He was born 1836 and died 1921 ref death cert.
His brother Isaac is there 1845-1904

Another find a grave has John Watterson 1835 -1821 Memorial in Oxford Cemetery

I looked at the online tree which does have Rachel Watterson, daughter of John Watterson and Margaret McMinn married to James E. Watterson, son of James Watterson and Mary, and this James is son to the same George Watterson and Elizabeth who are the parents of John Watterson married to Margaret. So if the senior James and John are siblings, then James E. and Rachel are cousins - right?
But.... the John on findagrave,  is possibly not the one married to Margaret McMinn. For sure, he is not the son of Joseph Watterson and Mary Woods since he was born PA. The only clue to who he is, is that he is the grandson of  Belle. That bears further research. If Isaac is his brother, does Isaac have grandmother Belle? I guess that means either Joseph Watterson's mother or Eliza Ann Smith's mother is named Belle.

I'm going round in circles, the Watterson's named their children Samuel, Margaret, Annie etc.

It takes finding the death certificates for parents names to sort them out.

Found Margaret  married Pierce 27 January 1837-1 August 1913 has parents John Watterson and Margaret McMinn.
Mary married Mulvaney 1838-20 August 1899 same parents.
Sarah married ?Henry 5 May 1839-25 August 1912 same parents
Samuel M (military record) 4 June 1847 death cert 4 April 1845-28 December 1916 same parents
Annie married Samuel Watterson (1836-1904)?  28 February 1839- 2 April 1930 same parents.
Have not sorted which Samuel she married yet

As far as John Watterson at the Manor Presbyterian, there is also a James Watterson with no dates buried there.
It depends on how old the graves are as others buried there are:
+Belle Watterson Griest 1869-1957      ??
Alice G Giffing Watterson 1894-1918
Sarah Ann Watterson Harper 1842-1882
Eliza Ann Watterson 1817-1896  my notes (wife of Joseph) maiden name Smith
James Watterson
John Watterson
Joseph Watterson Sr. 1813-1888
Julia Ann Geiger Watterson 1858-1935

You are doing great, amondg. Thanks for finding the spouses of John and Margaret's children.
I have access to the library edition of Ancestry which is limited but I did find a tree for Joseph Watterson married to Eliza Ann Smith but it doesn't have parents for either one of them. But it did have the death certificate for their son John who died in 1921 and he is buried in Oxford Cemetery. Headstone says wife Margaret J. 1848-1902.
I was thinking about the John Watterson who had grandmother Belle. If it was John married to Margaret McMinn, we don't know his grandmother either, just his mother Elizabeth.
