I was disappointed to see a recent announcement on ScotlandsPeople website.  They say that they will not be publishing the 1921 Scottish Census until second half of 2022.   Does anyone have any insights into why there is this delay?  I assumed the documents were already scanned and indexed.  There was speculation that it might be made available in June 2021 as per the 100 year rule.

Hi, I'm just wondering whether the 'excuse' which you haven't received for Scotland's 1921 material ::) is related to this little item (undated) which I've just come across on the web about FindMyPast suggesting the English 1921 data might be delayed [beyond the normally expected 2nd January date].

Would it not be a simple courtesy to advise everybody just what is going on? It is now a mere 3 months to go: Jan 2022. If those put in charge of the scanning task are hiding something it should be made public as soon as possible. Like now for instance. We are all being keep in the dark too as regards pay-per-view/printing costs for England as well.
