The Sands family of Docking, Norfolk

Has anybody been researching this family?  I am looking for the father of a Charles A? Sands, born 1884 in Docking who married Florence A Brett (born 1892) in 1915.  Their children were: Ernest C born 1916, Herbert born 1919, Margaret A L born 1925, Robert W born 1928 and Frederick A born 1935.

Any information would be gratefully received.  Thanks.

Look for Charles birth on freebmd then use GRO online to find his mothers maiden name

Then look for parents marriage on freebmd

Or - look for him on the 1891 census

The marriage was in Docking - do you know for certain that’s where he was born?  Marriage shows him just as Charles

Look at his full birthdate on the 1939 register - no match on freebmd.  If he is either of the Essex deaths then again - no middle name

He is on the 1911 census living in Norfolk

I have found two Charles Sands, both born 1885 one in Walsingham and one in Wisbech.  It is a big family with a lot of the same names, so cannot be sure which one (if either of the above) it is.  I have ordered his marriage cert anyway.  Nor have I found him on 1891 census.

He is on the 1911 and if he is the same one who married Florence he was b Norfolk.  However - 1939 birthdate does not match a birth on freebmd

On 1939 census his birthdate is given as 4/8/1884 but I know from previous experience, these are not always correct.  The two Charles births listed on Freebmd in 1885 are the only ones I have found.  I don't know of any Essex deaths, but think it unlikely he was in Essex.  1891 Census was not helpful.

There is no death showing in Norfolk for him but the 2 in Essex are 1951 aged 68 & 1962 aged 77

A Charles A Sands aged 69 died 1952 but that was in Salford

The Charles born in Walsingham Reg Dist is

Charles Edwin born 27 Feb, baptised 3 May 1885 to Charles and Flory Sands at Sculthorpe

Charles Sands married Florence Sapey 28 Oct 1882 at Dunton cum Doughton
