Unknow French Person and Photographer
« on: Saturday 19 June 21 11:57 BST (UK) »
Does anyone recognize the photographer name on the bottom of this photo, and perhaps time and place?

For the life of me, I can't make the letters out, even when trying to adjust contrast/brightness. Perhaps someone else might recognize it? I believe the first word is "The" and then under, "French" but that's all I can see.

Thank you in advance!

Ian

Possibly Thos but I can't work out the rest of the name.  Below is the best adjustment I can do, - hopefully Rootschatters with more skills can improve on this.

I'm not sure if my subject line was changed, of I wrote "Unknown French Person.." - if I did, that's incorrect. I'm fairly sure the person is not French - I just noted what appeared to be the word "French" in the photographer's id at the bottom.

Thanks for your attempt to clarify the words. I appreciate it. Hopefully maybe someone will recognize at least some part of it, and can provide more information! :)

Is it possible for you to just scan the bottom part at  600 dpi and save with no compression. I'm trying to do some push processing but it's pixelating as it's so small.

Thank you so much for the attempt!

No, I don't have access to the original print. It was sent to me by someone else :( I'll see if i can get back in touch and ask them, but I have my doubts.

But I think what you have done suggests it's probably Tho &...... perhaps original name a Thomas & something?

It's contrast and clarity that's needed can you get that on yours?
