Joseph King of Whicastle served in the regiments you cite, his discharge record is on Findmypast.  He served from 1801 to 1824.  He was in India but most certainly not in WW1.  A net search on the two regiments wil show where they served, he was with the 86th Foot 1801-1819 and the 69th Foot 1819 - 1824.

Sorry, his service record has nothing about a marriage (that is normal) and I find nothing else I'm afraid.

Others may have ideas as to where to find him.

Whicastle

That's what the army discharge papers record...but there's no such place. Whitwick perhaps?

Good Morning AllanUK, ShaunJ and MaxD, thanks so much for your help finding his parents. I realize that finding his possible marriage when he was in India, he may have married a Native woman named Hannamal who had two girls with my ancestor Private James Rushton, he died in 1815 Mauritius India and Private Joseph King adopted Mary (my ancestor) born 26/9/1809. :-[ still searching for records to prove this find. :-\

Regards,
Janet :-[
