witnesses Walter and Sarah Speck (brother in law and sister of the bride)
Address of bride and groom 7 Cooling Street

the 1911 entry for 7 Cooling Street includes;
William Chambers (head)
Walter Speck (son in law)
Sarah Speck (daughter)
Dorothy Mary Smith, grand daughter, aged 1.

Birth ref of SMITH, DOROTHY MARY mmn CHAMBERS
GRO Reference: 1909 S Quarter in LINCOLN Volume 07A Page 479
Dorothy remained in Lincoln, married in 1929 and died in Lincoln in 1981.

I've found a married Caroline Smith of the right age at the spread Eagle in 1911, no sign of George in 1911 but I have no idea where/when he was born though the 1908 marriage cert states he is 21.

I can't find anything for Caroline or George after 1911.

You don’t say whether any father is shown for George on the marriage cert

Where is the “spread Eagle”?

There is a Charles Smith occ Ostler in High Street, Lincoln in 1911 - have you eliminated him as Georges father

In 1891 that Charles has a son George, they are living in Lincoln

Charles Smith   26   Coachman domestic servant   bn Stainfield, Lincolnshire
Emma Smith   29 bn Ruskington, Lincolnshire

Just found a tree on Ancestry showing George and Caroline both died in Manitoba, Canada.

There is a picture of grave on FindaGrave - buried at Alexander Cemetery, Brandon, Manitoba.   Clearly them (although birth dates off) as stone also has dau. Dorothy Mary Butterfield on it.   George is shown on stone as George Charles b.1886 (born plain George Dec.1886), died 1958 Brandon, Manitoba and Caroline b.1886, died 3/2/1968 Souris, Manitoba.

The tree also shows further children: George Alexander 1912-1952, Thomas Adam 1915-1971, Charles Roland 1917 (should be 1919)-1988 and another unnamed daughter.

No other details for the children - no birthplaces given - but looks like all 3 boys were born in Sheffield but with no second names on birth records.

Caroline Smith 31 with sons George 8, Thomas 5 and Charles 15 months, arrived at Quebec on 16/11/1920 - her husband shown as George but not sure if she was joining him or whether he is listed separately on the manifest.

In Brandon, Manitoba on 1921 Canadian census.

Thanks for the replies

I only found a baptism for Dorothy (later births in bmd match baptisms of other couples).

There is another branch of the Chambers family who went to Canada in 1924 but a different area.

Caroline's father was born in Sheffield RD though dotted back and forth between Worksop and Lincoln for a while. Caroline had a brother named Alexander and there's dozens of George's. I'll pop onto findagrave and try to check the managers details, they might be family (or maybe not knowing my luck).
