Mary Ann Swinnerton
« on: Tuesday 22 June 21 15:29 BST (UK) »
Hi I find that a Mary Ann Swinnerton died 11 Dec 1927 drowned in the River Alyn Gresford.
Mary was the wife of Albert Swinnerton a coal miner of Wrexham.
As all my Swinnertons are from this area and I cannot find Mary on my family tree. i wondered who she was.
Thanks,
bswinno.

She was buried at Holy Trinity, Gwersyllt on 14 December 1927
A note says 'found drowned missing 5 weeks '  .
How sad.

Yes so sad.
Marys death certificate states found drowned but not enough evidence
to show how the deceased became so drowned.
No P.M.

I did a quick simple search on FindMyPast and the BNA to see if there was a newspaper report, but nothing came up.
Welsh Newspapers only go up to 1919.

It seems newsworthy enough to have made the local paper, but it will require a look at the microfilms/hard copies.
