Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for relatives of Rifleman Harold George Ashton - South African Mounted Rifles.  Died 6 July 1918. Buried Johannesburg (Brixton Cemetery) South Africa. Service No :- 5432

CWGC are in the process of providing a headstone to mark his grave.

Harold George Ashton Joined The South African Mounted Rifles in August 1915, and Died in Johannesburg whilst awaiting discharge On 6 July 1918. He is buried in the Johannesburg (Brixton) Cemetery South African Field Force Graves.

Brother Roland returned Durban South Africa to London arriving  2 September 1915 on the Walmer Castle. Last residence Rhodesia.  Also travelling Mrs William Reginald Ashton, aged 32 years.
