yes I do have the Trove death notice but the funeral was kept very low key.  his wife, Annie's was more informative but I'm just curious to know what he did for a living.

Yes, Hugh married the widow Annie Campbell, maiden name Bruchhauser.

The City of  Sydney Archives includes a full set of the Sands directories all fully digitised, no charge to search.  RChats NSW resources board has excellent live links.  I am on  my e reader so I cannot do live links  at the moment.

Camperdown is not anywhere near Canley Vale.

Unfortunately no references to an occupation that I can see, but there are numerous other mentions of the family on trove, searching with other fields such as "Wood Sackville street" and "canley vale baptist church" and "H H Wood" with limits to the local papers such as " The Cumberland Argus and Fruitgrowers Advocate" and "The Biz". (Just in cse you haven't looked already  :) )
