Dorset Family History Society's Monthly Online Zoom Meeting
« on: Friday 25 June 21 11:37 BST (UK) »
Dorset Family History Society is hosting an on-line Zoom talk on Tuesday 20th July 2021 from 7.30pm - 9.15pm (approx.)

ON-LINE SPEAKER IS MIA BENNETT talking on ‘FINDING TREASURE IN NEWSPAPERS’.

This talk will give an insight into the wealth of information that is available within newspapers, including the British Newspaper Archive and The Gazette, as well as hints and tips for getting more out of searching and finding useful articles within the newspapers.

Mia Bennett has been researching her family history for over 25 years, and has been a Trustee of the Society of Genealogists for over five years. She is also an Associate of AGRA. Mia has carried out DNA analysis for family history, run “brickwall” workshops, provided advice and volunteered in the SoG library and gives talks on DNA and family history.

Zoom sign-in from 7.15 pm (UK time).

Society Members who have consented to receive information by e-mail will find a meeting invitation link, and how to donate the voluntary Ł3 admission, in the E-News sent about 4 days before the meeting.

Those who do not receive E-News, or who are not Society Members, are welcome to join this meeting and should access the talk by emailing liaison@dorsetfhs.org.uk from the week before. An invitation will be sent out with sign in details of how to sign in to Zoom from 7.15pm on the night for a 7.30 start.

The Society would welcome a voluntary contribution of Ł3 towards the cost via our website.  Thank you.
