Reserved Occupations / Army Reserve
« on: Saturday 26 June 21 15:41 BST (UK) »
I have some information on a colliery worker who, in March 1916, was granted a certificate of exemption from military service as long as he remained employed in a coal mine.

Other records show that he served in the Army Reserve before his time with the colours.

Would he have been subject to any military training whilst in the Army Reserve, or just left to his civilian colliery life until mobilized in April 1918, please?

Thanks

He would have gone through the same training scheme as
regulars & then back to his day job until required.
