Louis Pankratz TRAUTNER
« on: Saturday 26 June 21 22:33 BST (UK) »
Hi there I am really stuck and wondered if anyone can help me.

I have an ancestor who's name is Louis Pankratz Trautner, born in Bayreuth Germany in 1824. I believe from his wedding certificate his dad was a farmer called Georg(e) Trautner. I cant for the life of me find out anything about George(e) I know some German records were destroyed in fires but can anyone help?

I also know that Louis Pankratz Trautner lived in St George Hanover Square London and I am desperate to find out if he has a Grave. Louis profession was a courier and there are a few records of him travelling by boat into France, there was also a suggestion from an unknown ancestor he may have couriered for Queen Victoria (i have doubts)

Please Help

Could this possibly be his death, no Louis.

There is quite a long article in the Westminster & Pimlico Newspaper Sep 10th 1887  about the sad death of LOUIS Trautner so I think this might be your Louis. Mentions address and St Georges Hospital.
Available on Findmypast or British Newspaper Archives.

In the actual report his surname is Trautner not Trautman

Possibly burial https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/222117330/pankietz-trantner
Names slightly vary.
Article mentions Maria and Louisa which would tie in with the censuses above.

I have contacted Brompton Cemetery to see if they can let me know anout the condition of the grave.

Does anyone have any idea how i could find his fathers German roots? I have never found anything and been on alot of sites.
