Palomino reply #26. I suspected "Thomas Wilson" may have been an error for Thomas Watts. It was a transcription on Lancashire Online Parish Clerks. If it's a transcription error and the surname of Thomas was Watts in the original register you can notify the LAN-OPC Swinton person from Swinton home page.
So Caroline became a Catholic at St. Mary Immaculate in March 1909 and had her children baptised there in April.

Walter had 7 bro's and sis's. All born 1870-1890 in Newchurch amd Bacup. Not a single parish record (baptism or marriage)...

You can see lists of churches in specific areas on Lancashire Online Parish Clerks and GEN UKI with foundation years and dates of registers for some.
e.g. www.lan-opc.org.uk/Rossendale/Newchurch/index.html

GEN UKI Uk & Ireland Genealogy
https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LAN/NewchurchinRossendale
You can search for churches within a chosen radius. Result is a map with coloured markers according to denomination. Selecting a marker shows name of church; clicking on marker brings up more information.

Walter married at St. Saviour, Bacup 1898. Have you looked for marriages of his siblings on Lancashire BMD? If their marriages are on it the church will be named if they married in Anglican churches. If they married in churches of other denominations the index will say "Registry Office or Registrar Attended".

Have you found any burials?

I ve found some trees which name as George's parents:
John Wilson (16 nov 1781 in Clitheroe - 1868 in Clitheroe)
Ann/Anne Hyde/Hide (about 1781 in Bailey - 2 jan 1865 in Clithero)

Birthplace for Ann may be Barley, a village a few miles east of Clitheroe.

A change of mind about my suggestion that Ann's birthplace Bailey may have been Barley.

Aighton, Bailey and Chaigley, 3 hamlets which made up a township in the parish of Mitton. 4 miles NNW of Whalley, around 5 miles WSW of Clitheroe. Mitton is an ancient parish, partly in Lancashire, partly in Yorkshire.
Map of township, information about population, churches, cemeteries.
https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LAN/AightonBaileyandChaigley
Select tab "Nearby churches" and adjust distance for another map showing churches with coloured icons for various denominations. Select an icon for name of church & foundation date. Click on name of church for more information. Many residents of the township may have had to walk a few miles to a church. They may have used whichever church was nearest or most convenient for their circumstances at the time.
St. John C. of E., Hurst Green founded 1838. C. of E. churches which existed before then include those in Clitheroe, Ribchester and Great Mitton (the last in Yorkshire).
There were Catholic chapels at Stonyhurst College from late C.18th and Hurst Green.

Parish Mouse website
"Parish Mouse  - Lancashire - Mitton -  Lancashire Family History Guide"
 https://www.parishmouse.co.uk/lancashire/mitton-yorkshire-lancashire-family-history-guide/
Mitton, a parish in the district of Clitheroe. Once part of Whalley parish. Alternative name Great Mitton. Adjacent parishes include Chipping, Ribchester, Whalley, Hurst Green.

Mitton on Lancashire Online Parish Clerks website
www.lan-opc.org.uk/Mitton/index.html
The only portion of Mitton (Little Mitton) originally in Lancashire was the joint township of Aighton, Bailey & Chaigley. The remainder (Great Mitton) was in Yorkshire.
Transcriptions of registers of All Hallows, Great Mitton, 1610-1800s are on LAN-OPC. It's advisable to read the explanation which introduces the baptisms registers.
