Is this great-grandmother? CLOSED
« on: Sunday 27 June 21 20:07 BST (UK) »
From an old family album- a name has been written in pencil on back which indicates it could be OH's great-grandmother Ann. She was born c1826, married 1849, husband died 1901 and she died 1914. She lived all her life in the same house and the photographer was local.
It looks like she is holding a letter with one hand on her lap and had resting on table has dark glove on? Item on back right of table looks like a workbag.

For info:
George Dallas was born on 20th. July 1853 in Kurin, Garvagh.
He was a watchmaker by trade and set up a business in Maghera St., Kilrea in 1879.  Around 1880 he started a photography business mainly in portraiture.

Thanks for the info about George Dallas, japeflakes, but I know the history of the Dallas family. Dallas' also had shop in Garvagh and I remember 'old' Mrs. Dallas there in 1980s.
