How to find records from 16th century?
« on: Tuesday 29 June 21 20:51 BST (UK) »
Hello, I have been trying to find my ancestor what I think is Essex (his decedents are from Essex), and I have hit a dead end. I have looked for various rolls, but most of them are from the 11th century to the 13th. His name is William Lambert born before 1545. His son is John Lambert. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Casey Lambert

Essex Archives:
https://www.essexarchivesonline.co.uk/

National Archives:
https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/advanced-search

Legal records:
https://waalt.uh.edu/index.php/Main_Page
This one you have to search in reverse order: "Lambert, William"

A location in Essex would help. Otherwise it's a wild goose chase.

Garstonite, that pedigree doesn't look very reliable: Ipswich, Essex, and a daughter born almost 300 years after her father.

TBH I didn't actually look at it in depth - I will delete it - thanks

Sorry, is there an Ipswich in Essex?
