Help with 1814 Irish baptism please.
« on: Friday 02 July 21 05:45 BST (UK) »
This is Catholic baptism record for John Houlihan?  Clonakilty, Cork 29th Nov. 1814.  Diocese are Cork and Ross.  Help with spelling of father's name and mother's name would be appreciated.

Regards,
Jen.

They are transcribed as Jerry Houlihan and Nel Lordan on one site.

Here is Bat, baptised to the same couple in December 1812. I agree with Jerry and Nel. There are several Lordan baptisms in the parish.

Bat would be Bartholomew and you may find Nel as Ellen in other records perhaps.

Thankyou Heywood  :D  I wasn't sure whether it was an "on" or "an" at the end of Nel's surname.
The sponsor does look more like Lordan on Bat's baptism.

There are variations of the spelling - as ever.  :)
