Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for help tracing an ancestor.

Daniel Gidman (junior) born 1916-2009

He married Violet May Emmeline Wilson in April 1941. I know that they lived in Surrey for some time. I can't find any military information for him and I can't trace him. I know he was born in Runcorn to Daniel & Emma. I can't trace any of their children (if any). He had 2 older brothers Richard William (Bill) & George.

Violet died in 1977. I have found them living in Liverpool in 1955 but other than that I have nothing. Please help

What occupation is shown for Daniel on the marriage certificate? Was it a reserved occupation?
Howard , Viney , Kingsman, Pain/e, Rainer/ Rayner, Barham, George, Wakeling (Catherine), Vicary (Frederick)   all LDN area/suburbs  Ottley/ MDX,

I don’t have a marriage certificate, I knew names and have gone off ancestry

You won't find military information as he would have served after 1920 and those records are still with the MoD

I see in 1939 Violet is working in the NAAFI at Aldershot & living in.
There are 3 children all boys born L'pool between 1947 & 56.

Have you tried searching freebmd for any children for him just using surnames Gidman & Wilson - possible births Liverpool area, if these are correct you can also find their marriages indexed on freebmd

Where in Surrey do you think they could have lived.

He lived in Aldershot and had possible links to Chelmsford.
