This throws a new light on the family movement between Ireland, England, Scotland, this child died in the Adelaide hospital Dublin in 1906, so they moved back to England for the birth of Ann & John in the Warrington area, before again moving back to Ireland to be here for the 1911 census.

Do you have his 1904 Scottish marriage certificate?

Given that one of John & Isabella's children was named Ann Ferguson Dunbar
a bit of a long shot but I'm wondering if there might be a connection with the name Ferguson for John's family

There was a thought that there was an Edinburgh connection to the family, and I have just recently been told that John snr his wife and 3 of his children left Ireland not long after his 2nd marriage,(possibly because of the  'lockout'of 1913/General strike which lasted 9 months) leaving young Isabella with his 2nd wifes family to be reared by them.
