RUTHERFORD Hackney 1840s

Endeavouring to find birth registrations for children of Walter RUTHERFORD and Sarah COCK/COCKS who were married at St Paul Haggerston on 12 Oct 1839.

They were all baptised at Hackney as follows
David Henry 1840
Elizabeth 1842
Walter 1844
John 1847
Sarah 1848

Have them all on the census plus another daughter Mary Ann whose birth registration I can find on the GRO Sep qtr 1856 Edmonton mmn COCKS.

Tried FreeBMD and GRO but nothing. Registration was new at the time and they may have thought the baptisms covered it all so there may not be a registration for any of them.

Failure to register a death only became a fineable offence in 1874/5 so not unusual to find no birth reg prior to then
