SCHOOL records 1892 great source of information.

I mostly use ancestry to search and dont often come across school records but one came up in a hint
For Dolphin Barn school june 1892- 98

It gives childs age last birthday address
Profession of parents but not name
Last school attended then columns for subsequent years including no of days absent  + marks for reading writing arithmetic spelling grammar geography and needlework with spaces for extra branches
Frances LUCHE age 9 took drawing for the next 5 years bookikeeping in year 5 & 6 and algebra in year.

Violet McCRODDEN age11 left after
 3 years and redoubled year 5
Her highest marks were in drawing

She lived at 11 Rialto st and parents occupation is given as nurse which i assume means a woman caring for her

Mary SMYTH 8 has no entries after enrollment details
And her surname is spelt SMITH
In the vertical column



What a lovely snippet of of life id love to have a record like that for my own great grandmother

There are a few more columns
Last school attended
Kathleen BOWLES age10 has comment :
" never at a N S"

There's a column for school fees which remains blank for all

Then column for "if pupil be struck off"
Violet has date 22.2 96

"If readmitted "
22.6 96

Why would a child have been withdrawn from school for 4 months


I scrolled few several pages to see if there were any sisters
There was an Alice BYRAN age 3 of 11 RIALTO street but she was in infants several years later no parents information given for infants

This is great. I have tried researching the school, but have come up with nothing. Wonder if anyone else can provide any insight? x

I found it on a bing search it became a boys school in 1920
