It sounds like your browser is remembering an incorrect password, which it fills in for you and is then rejected. You then fill in your proper password and log in properly.

Does this fit with what you experience?

It seems that the password field, when you first see it, has something ready and waiting, but not visible.

Next time you reach the login, click in the password field and use Control-A to select the whole of the existing contents. If you can see the width of the selection increase, then we're on the right track. Overtyping with your password should then work.

If I'm right, we then move on to getting rid of that invisible data.

Sorry Andrew that didn't work.
The field did not expand when I clicked in & pressed Ctrl+A, but anyway I then went ahead & entered my password  - message: 'Password incorrect' as I usually get. H

Try pressing Delete (Backspace) a few times to get rid of any rubbish. You might need to press End first.

I wonder if there is some problem with the keys being used?

Try typing the password into Notepad, then copy from there and paste into the password box (you might need to use Control-V for that).

That way you are certain of what is being put into the box.

Sorry Chris and Andrew, after trying each of your suggestions independently (closed website and re-opened for each one) they both failed. Still only successful when I entered my password for the 2nd time. H
