ninchitis

Thanks it does look like that doesn't it? But nothing really comes up on Google at all when I search it. Must be a very obscure term.

The second letter looks like an 'e'.  The 'i's at the end of the word are well dotted.

I don't belong to newspaper.com but I saw this when I did a google search so I am wondering if it is consumption or bronchitis.
The Cedar Vale Star from Cedar Vale, Kansas on September ...https://www.newspapers.com › newspage
... and altliougli the arrangement of. the goods is by no means com-pleted, yet we ... table remedy for the ?peedr and permanent cure of Consumption. I'ninchitis.

Upon  doing another google search  it may also be bronchitis which also appears to be called chronic catarrhal ninchitis
Both are lung conditions.

I suspect that they are simply spelling mistakes - they look like the kind of texts which result from an old document (non-digital) being "read" by modern software.  :)

The section you quote is full of typos, and the other link which comes up when I google it is also full of typos:
The most interesting part of tlie liistory of chronic catarrhal ninchitis is its etiology.

So I think it may be fair to assume that the original texts said "bronchitis" or something along those lines.

Which doesn't help us with this particular query, unfortunately.  :(

@LMChapman: Could we maybe have a larget snippet, to compare letters?
