St Mary's Chatham parish records: Frances Munday/ Thomas Solomon
« on: Monday 12 July 21 04:30 BST (UK) »
Hello, I hope you are safe and well. Thank you for being volunteers.

I hope you might be able to please help me find possible birth/baptism records (or any other information) for a Frances Munday and/ or a Thomas Solomon if, of course, either were born in Chatham.

What I do know about this couple is that they were married in St Mary's Chatham, Kent in July 1801, but I have been unable to find their birth records or their parentís names.

The couple had at least three children Frances in 1805, Thomas James in 1809 and John Robert in 1814.

I would be most grateful for any information you might have. I hope I have given you enough information and am abiding by the guidelines.

Kindest regards, Blujay

Did they make it to 1851?
Side tracked to a friendís very interesting Norfolk families. MORGAN, PRATT, HORNOR, SUCKLING, GLEANE etc. And in London DOWNES, du CROZ, MORGAN (same MORGANs as the Norwich lot)

Hi, thanks so much for the quick response, I believe there is a death record for Frances, whether it is the right Frances Solomon, for 1833, so think she did not, not sure about Thomas, but I have looked and have not found anything in the censuses. Also some of their children emigrated to the USA, so Thomas may have gone with them.

It is more Frances and Thomas' births and their parents that I am interested in, as there are Mundays in my tree and I am trying to see if Frances might be related to them. Kind regards, Blujay.

I do see your point though,an appearance in the 1851census would give an age and a place of birth.

Freereg has a baptism for a Thomas Soloman in nearby Gillingham 6th December 1778, son of John & Mary.

I can't see a likely baptism for Frances in Kent.

witnesses at marriage incase any use.  (both Thomas and Frances made their mark)

are Mary Jessup. - (very well formed confident signature)
and the mark of John   - I would post but cannot as this is a look up board. Hard to read. I thought it was Scatchard, but the 's' looks just like the J of John, so might be an I. I really am not sure.
