Ann SERJEANTON - Richard BULLMAN
« on: Monday 12 July 21 04:57 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Can anyone please help find a marriage and children for Ann SERJEANTON - Richard BULLMAN, I know they had one son, name unknown,  Ann was transported for stealing in 1836, I have been unable to find anything that may prove they followed Ann, she was born around 1814, Hull.

Thank you.

Cienna.

Take a step back.

What is the source of these facts?
Can you give a link to the transportation source at least?
I can find nothing obvious. I'm not even 100% sure which surname she was transported under.

I think this may be her criminal record and transportion so presumably she didn't marry pre transportation

I presume you will have seen her entry on the "Convict Reords" website. She is described as spinster when she married  William Ware in Hobart in 1846.
Ann/Hannah  Sargentson Ware died  16 June 1878 Hobart. Family Search. (Also on "Find a Grave")

Unable to find any obvious match for Richard Bullman in 1841.

There's a very lengthy 1836 correspondence on FindMyPast's prison records under "Ann Sergeantson" which includes -

"Mr Robert Chapman, a Burgess of this Boro' who with his son in law Ab'm Cadworth (a distant relative .....) died about 3 years ago & left a widow & children, amongst whom was a daughter named Ann Chapman. This individual was allured from the paths of virtue by a man of depraved character - quitted her home - continued her intercourse with him and abandoned associates 'til is believed joined with them in travelling thro' the country as a beggar and vagabond assuming the maiden name of her mother Ann Sargeson".

She was 22 years old in 1836.

I read the prison correspondence as "Ab'm Cadworth" but should be "Cudworth" ie.
