Help needed to connect to Hub
« on: Wednesday 14 July 21 16:33 BST (UK) »
I lost broadband and BT sent me a mini hub while I was waiting for an engineer to come.
Engineer been and  I am now back connected to broadband but I am having trouble connecting back to my hub.  I keep getting a message saying I must enter a network security key, which I have no idea what it is, or press button on router.

Any ideas please.

Thanks

I think this might refer to the WiFi password, which should be written on a label, on the Router. You would input it on the WiFi Settings on Your Computer/Tablet.

I have only pressed the Button on a Router, to transmit the password automatically, to a smart device, that required connection. Try the manual password input, first.

ADD: Some early BT Routers have a pull out Tab on the top on the Router, which has the password label attached.

Thanks you.  I will give it a go

I'm still connecting via the mini hub.  When I take it out and try to connect it doesn't work.
Still getting message.

At the back of the BT Hub there should be a little black plastic plate that slides out.
It's marked "Hub Settings" and says "Pull out for useful info".

Printed on this are various details including the unique name of the hub - BT call this the "Wireless Network" .   It will be something like BThub6-xxxx.   There is also the secure key - BT call this the "Wireless Password/key" - this will be a string of characters (upper & lower case) and numbers....

On your device turn on WiFi and enter the Wireless Network and Key.

If the plate is missing contact BT.
