Union Workhouse, Hackney
« on: Wednesday 14 July 21 19:02 BST (UK) »
 Greetings Nice People,
I have just got a copy of my Great great Grandfathers Death Certificate which said
that he died of Typhus in the Union Workhouse, Hackney on the19th May 1860.
His name was Samuel Rogers and I would like to know:
           a) Was the Union Workhouse, Hackney the one in Homerton
           b) Where would I find the records for it
           c) What would they have done with his body - I mean Typhus in a place like that!
if they buried I'd like to know where so I could take some flowers - plus I think
his wife died in the same place many years later.
Thank you for your help - Please take care - KInd regards Keith Davies

There are a lot of records free to view on Family Search.
However most of them seem to post-date his death
https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/1115546?availability=Family%20History%20Library
The camera icon indicates that a logged in member can view them. If you aren’t already a member it only takes a minute or so and is well worthwhile.

Here is his (minimal) entry in the death register
