Thank you.   Will research further, should not have limited search to Eglwysilian, Glamorgan.   A beginners mistake.

Will try again today, starting with just Glamorgan.

    Stay safe
Suzanne

I did see other options but the one about 12 miles away in Llantwit Major, I could not find a burial for him there or a clear marriage nearby, I did see possible burials at Llantwit Major for his parents.

Another possibility is Llanwonno, as they were living in Rydfelin Eglwyillian on the 1841 census. They were married in St Illtyds Church Llantwit Fadre and although he died in Rydfelin 1949 he was buried in Llantwit. His occ. was a boatman.
His wife Jane continued to live there until she died.

Thank you, Sam That sounds very plausible, if you take onto account the round down of 1841 census.

This week I have been contacted by an American cousin, she is a DNA match, third cousin once removed or 4Th cousin.  Her 3xgggrandfather is William Williams born about 1762, baptised at St Gwynno, Llanwonno. Parent William Williams.  On free reg there is also a Richard Williams baptised 21 Nov 1779 parents William Williams,  plausible if you take into account rounding down of 1841 census.
Could this be him?  The 1841 census just gives counties as birth so Glamorgan covers both.

Does your cousin have the name of the abode at which her William Williams lived in Llanwonno, or his occupation ?
