what improper act
leaving a published stamp out
seems like an accidental printing error

* Modified
in my 1968  valuation catalogue Edward only has a paragraph at bottomof page
This printed stamp album with black and white printed images showing where to add stamps starts with George V. Has his jubilee stamps on one page mentioning colour variations

Following page is the first George V1 stamp

i.ll look at  other printed albums

others have pages per country

but this one
 issue 3550
value 30/. shillings
has black and white pics to show where to stick actual stamp

goes straight from george v to george 6
george and mary pics

excuse rushed typing

thanks for insights will be back asap

see if anyone on FB history mystery page has come up with ideas

plenty of pics on there & i will add videos which i cant do on here

I have been forced to go and dig out the old stamp albums! George V faced left, Edward 8 faced left, and I think it was decided that George 6 faced left. I think I have one Edward 7 and he faces left.
It seems to be fairly general in other countries as well.
I think I have a Canada stamp of Edward 8, but the franking goes over the face, and the two brothers were quite similar.

Queen Vic faced left too, so that's the set. That was her coinage face too, but evidently they decided not to perpetuate the head swap tradition which was perhaps an identification thing (Henrys 4 to 6 and Edward 4 all look remarkably similar in portraits, and the latter two swapped round a couple of times).

So not for these new-fangled stamps.

I am confused!

There wasn't an Edward VIII 30/- stamp?
Even with George VI stamps, the highest value was £1.

I am pretty confused too, but I think brigid is referring to some sort of album rather than to a stamp, and the price shown on the album is 30/-
In this particular album the issue she is raising is that the page for Edward VIII is missing.

By the way brigid, George VI's wife, later the Queen Mother, was Elizabeth, not Mary, as you have stated both here and on the little video on your FB page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/302518847273009/permalink/905439180314303/

Thanks all you wonderful people

Yes its a Stanley GIBBONS album.circa 1968 that omits Edward 6

Apologies for any factual inaccuracies

Mary was queen mother when george VI reigned
My homework is to make a video with all the kings and queens i ll include charles and diana .! My collection stopped around 1975

Elizabeth Beau.?..(our present queens mother )faces forward on commemorative stamps

There were stamps featuring prince Charles Welsh investiture faces ( left?)

My friend Margaret was first GIRL in LEICESTER to win gold duke of Edinburgh award + go to Buckingham palace. 1 of her tasks was maintain hobby and she chose stamps .

She now wants to sell her collection
Including books of first day covers

Its her chihuahua and voice on one of videos
I can add photos to FB page without having to edit .

There is a video of the man who didnt want to be King . Its on great glen page which is a closed group but i can share on request

Maybe i can do a zoom/whatsapp group where we can all compare albums .

Im surprised that the Edward 6 stamps werent worth very much in 1970 even unused.dont know current value ...

If anyone does NOT have all 3 in their collection or is looking for ones in better condition or any other particular stamp or FIRST DAYCOVER s
message me ..i.ll be happy to send

Great Glen library is looking at logistics of me running TIME TRAVEL DETECTIVE workshops there as i used to do at Oadby library tho ive never done stamps .

I can now TELEPORT  to a venue anywhere in world !  Am sending a collection to SOUTH AFRICA  to descrndants of my nana maisies Adoptive Family

Feel free to use any of my videos &/ or make better versions + share links

There are some errors in your reply:

The Queen Mother's maiden name was Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.

Edward VI (6th) reigned from 1537 to 1553 - there were no stamps then ;D

The monarch under discussion is Edward VIII (8th).

I'm sorry, I just don't buy the notion that the longest-established and most respected philatelic dealer in GB would publish an album deliberately omitting the stamps of a particular monarch.  To me (at any rate) it seems more likely that the album's owner carefully removed a page (that would be all it would need) and it is simple to remove a single sheet from a traditional binding.  That would create another missing page of course ?
